This weekend was rather sedate for us. I worked on Friday night, so my husband had the kids all to himself on a night that I am normally home - it kind of threw everything off for the little ones. They act just a little different for Daddy than they do for Mommy!
Saturday dawned bright and beautiful here on the farm. We packed the kids into the car and went to our local bookstore to purchase the new Harry Potter books that we had on preorder (I had to get 2 so that there would be no question of who could read it first!) and we bought each of the kids a new book too. Xander picked out a book about airplanes - he is just fascinated by airplanes right now and Kenzie picked out a Little Mermaid book. Then we went to Mickey D's for breakfast and we ate INSIDE! I guess I didn't realize how much of a mess they made until I saw it somewhere other than my own dining room table! Later in the afternoon, my cousin came over to talk AVON. She is just starting out with her new business and needed some helpful hints. I got to see the baby - which is a definite highlight on my day - he is not yet 1 month old and cute as a button! I read over half of my new book and then made dinner on the grill. The kids played outside and had a great time.
Sunday was a lazy day until about noon. I finished Harry's last book and then started cleaning and laundry duty. It's amazing how much dirty laundry 4 people can produce in one week! In between loads of laundry, I sat down and checked out my ads for free AVON samples and found that I had 8 requests for books/samples/coupons! WOOOHOO! So I knocked those out real quick like and then went outside with my kids. My brother stopped by so we sat and talked. I dug around in the garden while brother and husband talked and drank some beer. I'll have a bumper crop of bell peppers this year but not much else. The tomatoes died
and the broccoli went to flower before I could get to it
and the cauliflower is all buggy!
Oh well, there's always the farmers market!
