Friday was an interesting day...My landlord was here at 7:15 AM putting the finishing touches on the concrete forms for our new walkways (both front and back). By 8 the concrete truck was here pouring. Xander woke up early and was standing on a chair watching the big truck. That was all he wanted to do was see the truck.
We left the house a little early so we could stop at the bank and the UPS store. As soon as Mackenzie walked out the door, a bumblebee attacked her. She screamed and (yep, you guessed it) ran right over the newly finished concrete, took a left turn and headed for the corn field. She was shallowly stung three times by the same bee - twice just under the jaw and once on the collar bone. Thankfully she is not allergic to all types of bee stings like I am. (Plus I have an unnatural fear of bees) So instead of doing our errands I took them both to the babysitters (which happened to be my niece and nephew) and then went to the drugstore to get her some Benadryl.
Apparently the bees had been building a hive under the stoop and when the new walkway went in the entrance to it was sealed. They were trying to get back in and were mad when they couldn't. She just happened to be in the wrong place when an angry bee was trying to get home.
So I went to work, leaving instructions to call me if she seemed at all out of the ordinary. I was expecting to hear that the manager at the Muskego store had called the manager at the Franklin store to settle on a date for my transfer but that didn't happen. It seemed to be unneccessarily stressful at work for reasons I really can't pinpoint, so I was very happy when my shift was over. It's been like that at that store lately although I don't know why. Maybe I'm just getting older and don't want to deal with the petty crap anymore - not that I ever really did.
That night we watched the first installment of a movie called The 10th Kingdom. Kenzie seemed to really enjoy it. It is one of my favorite "mini-series" kid's movies. I highly reccommend it - if you have Netflix you can rent it from there.
oh man I hope she is ok. are you getting any opps from PPP
